i dreamt last night that i was in a basement...
with my husband, our cats, and a couple of friends. most of the room was cinderblock on all sides and thus safe from collapse, but there was a section of ceiling across the room from us that was just stucco. i watched as it buckled and cracked and groaned under the weight of the floors above it. and as it began to cave in i said quietly, “here it goes.”
